⚠️ BACKCOUNTRY & OFF-ROAD SAFETY WARNING: Off-highway vehicle (OHV) driving, trail crawling, and overland exploration take place in remote, hazardous wilderness environments where medical assistance, cellular connectivity, and emergency services may be hours or days away. OverlandMesh and connected Meshtastic radio devices are navigational aids only. Do not rely on OverlandMesh as your primary or sole life-safety device. Always carry secondary physical maps, a compass, emergency supplies, and a certified satellite emergency beacon (such as an EPIRB or satellite messenger).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the OverlandMesh mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.

2. Navigational Data, Topography & Trail Ratings

Trail lines, difficulty ratings, waypoints, obstacle descriptions, and land boundaries provided in OverlandMesh are derived from open-source Geographic Information Systems (GIS), OpenStreetMap, user submissions, and public databases.

Trail conditions change constantly due to weather events, washouts, mudslides, snowpack, seasonal closures, and land management updates.
OverlandMesh does not guarantee that any depicted trail or road is open, passable, safe, or suitable for your particular vehicle, tire size, or skill level.
You are solely responsible for obeying local land management laws (BLM, USFS, National Parks, private property boundaries) and Tread Lightly! ethics.

3. LoRa Radio Telemetry & Mesh Connectivity

OverlandMesh connects via Bluetooth to external Meshtastic LoRa radios operating in unlicensed ISM frequency bands (e.g., 915 MHz in the Americas).

Radio propagation is subject to line-of-sight obstructions, canyon walls, dense forest canopies, antenna quality, and battery depletion. Packet delivery is not guaranteed. Never depend on peer-to-peer LoRa mesh messages for life-critical SOS communications when certified emergency satellite services are available.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OverlandMesh, its developers, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation vehicle damage, rollover accidents, mechanical breakdowns, physical injury, search and rescue costs, or loss of life arising out of or related to your use of the application.

5. Intellectual Property & User Content

You retain ownership of the photos, waypoints, and GPX tracks you create. If you choose to sync waypoints to our community hazard database, you grant OverlandMesh a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display those obstacle markers to other overlanders.
